    Different "GoPro" type camera.

For those that want a HD "GoPro" type camera that's different:
    http://www.vio-pov.com/

I'd like one, and I like the fact that the lens and CCD are separate from the CPU and memory device.

    Re: Different "GoPro" type camera.

I had a VIO POV before gopro and contour came out with the HD versions.

It's excellent for rugged, crazy abuse. I could throw it in the snow and not give a damn.

The annoyance is that It has a 6 ft long cable that i always had to run from my had to my pocket. The lens itself is very discreet and doesnt stick out like the stupid gopros, but it's too much of a hassle IMO. I like the contour because I can just flick it on and go without ever having to look at it. both go pro and VIO are more work

    Anytime.

Though, from some comparisons on YouTube, the GoPro seems to have the better overall image quality in most situations...and the Drift is the other camera

gopro is very good at marketing

I think for what it is, contour squeezes out a good enough picture to justify owning it. The non hassle recording alone is worth it.

they all have advantages and disadvantages

Contour HD is on sale for about $120, seems like a real good deal. It doesn't come with mounts for that price though.

call and check on what it comes with. I'd be surprised if it doesnt come int he normal box with those things i mentioned.

but, if it doesnt, look up the accessories you want. they can be expensive. I'm about to drop $40 on the waterproof case this afternoon.

I like that this one, you have a LOT more mounting options, as you're only mounting the lens out on your bike somewhere, with the CPU mounted somewhere else out of harms way.
