I think he got here Saturday, because they had all of northbound I-25 shut down for no friggin' reason for miles. I missed out on an hour with my daughter because of the traffic nightmare.

Saturday morning? Yeah, that was a Thornton PD motorcycle officer who got run over from behind. My girlfriend watched it happen right in front of her and was first on the scene. Pretty nasty, he's now in critical care with what appear to be serious injuries.

    No friggin reason at all...

thanks for reminding me... I have to sneak out early today so I don't get trapped on base.
Do not put off living the life you dream of. Next year may never come. If we are always waiting for something to change...
Retirement, the kids to leave home, the weather or the economy, that's not living. That's waiting!
Waiting will only leaves us with unrealized dreams and empty wishes.

Wrong-O Mel, it is now a police conspiracy instead of a Federal conspiracy.

Sorry to hear it. There wasn't any info for us travellers, especially the way they had the barricades set up so far in advance, I didn't see anything on the news about it, and knew old ObaMao was coming into town so I figured the clown came in a couple days early. Don't get your vagina all in a bind now 'lil sister.

Hope he's ok, ad hope they nail the bastard who did it. I think it sux that the motorcycle officers can't wear full-face helmets and leathers, that gear doesn't look like much protection at all.

Springs PD is now allowed to wear modular helmets, which I like better than the 3/4 lids they had.

I'm with you on the gear though. Going down in that kind of material would mean some serious ouch...

    Re: Obama in town

She said he had the high boots and a jacket on. The most noticeable damage was the skin on his fingers got peeled back. Unfortunately, she said he was nearly incoherent and becoming irritable signaling internal trauma, something confirmed by news reports of his current condition.

The guy who hit him apparently stopped a little ways ahead and walked back to the scene, she said her first thought was also that the guy was drunk. She also said she'd actually avoided him in the couple miles before the accident because he was weaving through traffic and generally driving like Zach. Things will not go well for him...

Well, hope he heals up fully. Also hope they nail him, although, we all know if it hadn't been a cop, they'd just slap him on the wrist, and they CERTAINLY wouldn't have shut down the entire freeway for one of us "Common folk".

I looked into becoming a CHP when I was unemployed, and specifically asked about being a motor cop, and was appalled at the gear their forced to wear. They should have the option to wear either leather or full textile in the dept colors, and certainly shold be allowed to wear a full-face helmet if they wanted to.
