    Speaking of FOG's...

Looks like old man winter is about to descend upon us and bring the blissful riding days of summer to a close.

Now. Snow? Gravel in the corners. Drat!

Live through the winter and look forward to another glorious summer of riding.

Until then, when do those of you with many years of experience begin the winterizing process, and other that Sta-bil, what is your procedure for winterizing your bikes?

I ride mine all winter. So I don't do anything really.

Although I do change back to antifreeze in the race bike

I run Sta-Bil in mine, and have a battery tender (which I need to find in all the boxes!), but generally ride mine thru winter as well. I also have Pit-Bull stands to get the bike up off the ground. If you plan on truly storing it all winter, fill th etank to the brim, add Sta-Bil, run it good and hot, change the oil and filter, put it up on stands, put a 'Tender on it, and you're good. One caveat: I've had the 'Tender's dry my battery out before when I just set it on there for months at a time (cleveland), so I'd recommend only using it every other day. Or, set up one of those times (like for lights, etc.) to cycle it.

No need to put your bike away for the winter around here. There are plenty of nice days to ride. Some Sta-bil and a Battery Tender and you're good to go. You can put it up on stands if you think it'll be sitting for more than a few weeks as well.
