    is this bad?

So my fairlane just stopped running on i25 Sun night. I coasted it to the shell off of Huron & Thorton parkway. No spark. I got a tow from a friend popped a tire on 270 & decided to go for it. Luckily my rim was ok & got tire replaced for the $17 warranty. After digging around the no spark I had the cap off, crank & and no movement from the rotor. Pulled dizzy, crank no movement from the camshaft... yanking motor Saturday

(on a side note, fuelie 351???

    RIP

I'm not a motor guy, but I thought only zero-clearance engines had permanent damage from broken timing chains.

You might luck out that it was just the drive gear at the bottom of the distributor. I was told they purposely make them weaker than the ones on the camshaft.
You wanna know what the chain of command is? It's the chain I go get and beat you with until you realize I'm in command.

+1 on the timing chain. I do not believe that its an interference engine, almost positive, so hopefully your pistons and valves are aok.

    Re: is this bad?

Seeing the chunked up aluminum from the inside of the cover I decided to just go ahead and yank it.

Luckily had a coworker show up & helped me un-shoehorn the assm headers and all.

Now I am at home, showered up & drinking beer

Great looking car (except for the motor). My Ford pickup in high school had a 351 Windsor and could/would smoke the tires all day. Good luck!

I had a Maruader for a while and thought about the same thing. Cost to power ratio didn't make it worth while. Why not a crazy blow through twin turbo set up?

With the right setup, lag can be minimized(as I'm sure you know). I'm more of a fan of free power.

it seems every piped sti or evo that i see/ hear sounds like a good ole relieving fart. the bottom line also is I can get an eaton m112 for 3-500 too. Dont get me wrong I wouldnt mind seeing upside down headers feeding turbos... I just want one big pump on top first
