    Leather jacket Zipper repair

The zipper in my leather jacket is dead, who do you guys recommend to fix it? Any idea on cost for something like this?

    Thanks

    Re: Leather jacket Zipper repair

I had my A* jacket fixed by Brick House Leather in Longmont. Not the most convenient location for you, but their work was absolutely killer and I highly recommend them.

My repair came back with a zipper far more sturdy than the one it came from the factory with, and it was expertly sewn into the jacket, to look very OEM. I forget the woman's name that runs the joint, but she even did some extra (free) fixes for me, out of her good graces. Patched up a small hole in my elbow with scrap leather, and added some leather pull-tabs to my pockets, as the plastic A* ones had long-since been broken off. I'll probably never go anywhere else for future repair work.

I haven't dropped off my leathers at Nate's due to the nice weather we had. But I am hoping to be up there on Mo, Nov 7th.
If you want, I can take yours up, too, for an estimate.

Stupid question - when I click on the link above that takes me to my original post, Nate's name shows in red font. Why is that? And how does that work?
I know I misspelled his name initially.... .

Its showing up in red since it was found using the search function with nate's name. It would then make any of the search terms red. This same red highlighting is tranferred to you in the link with what I have bolded: http://www.cosportbikeclub.org/forum...d.php?t=42876&highlight=nate+butler

They fixed a fuckered up pair of boots I bought used, I paid shipping to them and they took care of the rest, stitching and replaced zippers in both boots.

Yeah, I don't know how far they will go in fixing things... like "My jacket burned up in a fire... could you please fix it?" vs. "My zipper is broken" or "this leather is cheap and I wore a hole through it."

I plan on sending my jacket to them this winter to get my zipper pull fixed... it broke like 2 months after I bought the jacket.

Leather place on Broadway @ Belleview in Englewood. Main jacket zipper was $55- $5 zipper, $50 labor, no... seriously.

I think I'll ship my next problem to A*s. Did you call them first or just sent it in?

What's the process of doing this? Contact their customer service? I have a pair of Alplinestar boots that got a big rip in them, want to send them in.

You still headed there on Monday? I need an estimate on getting a sleeve zipper replaced, then a general cleaning of the jacket. I can drive there myself, If I know he's going to be around.

Yeah, I did. Just seeing this now. It's better to get ahold of me via PM cause I really only skim the forum, and if the thread isn't right there, I usually don't read it. Yeah, I know. Folks even explained to me how to look up new posts.

I will need to go back up there to pick up the leathers. If you want, I can take yours up then. Speaking with Nate, I trust he knows what he is talking about. He has a ton of experience. And all the leaters I dropped off were pretty easy to fix compared to some of the leathers of racers... .

Let me know if you want me to take them up in 2-3 weeks. But please PM me.

Oops. Just noticed you're in Aurora - drop off your own stuff. LOL. On a serious note, Nate's number is here: http://cosportbikeclub.org/forums/sh...ad.php?t=42876
