The plan, go to the top of pikes peak the roads will not be pretty and slow speeds will be used.
I don't care what gear you have but I suggest very warm clothing, as it will be very cold. Meet time and location TBD

I'll be on stand by with the truck... I'm all for crazy riding but that's suicidal right there.

I would also suggest frame sliders and studded tires.
I've got more flavor than a packet of macaroni.
I may pass on this one, even though it's a lot closer to home.
Is there a reward if you make it to the top? LoL
Probably Grim cookies!
I should ride the scooter up.

I'm with ya in spirit only. Ya know just cause you can do something doesn't mean you should.
Its not how fast you go, its how little you slow down.
Yea this isn't looking good I'm having a really pleasantly fucked up reaction to my flu shot if it knock it the hell off I will go tom afternoon.
I'm out... my heated mirrors aren't working!
Wish I wasn't working, this sounds like a blast. You guys be careful.

Hey, I rode it to the top last Tuesday the 2nd, before the front swept through! Had a complete, total and utter blast. Practically had the whole mountain to myself... just me and a few cars.
The last of the paving work was completed a few weeks ago. Except for the parking lot at the summit, sweet tarmac the whole length. Would note this... it was 40f at the entrance gate ($12 - motorcycle), and at the top I was riding in 15f temps with 40mph howling winds! Yee ha. Also, this was the day before the snow. As I look east 80 miles towards Pikes Peak now... it is mostly a wintry white color. Success will depend on their plowing efforts and if the wind is reversing their plowing efforts. Today was windy. Be sure to call beforehand so at least you know what to expect.
From a pause along the way, looking back...
Yeah, next year!

ALrughty folks I'm feeling 110% this morning after about 12 hours of sleep. Just talked to the ranger they said the roads are clear and plowed..up to mile 13 where they have it closed as of now. They said they anticipate that the sun will have all of the ice melted by 11 in which the they will allow people to go to the top of the summit. I am doing this ride regardless of anybody going with me or not, sonic you want in let me know and we will setup a meet point. I plan to just take 25 to the springs.
Alrighty kids, no takers? I will be going to the walgreens in castle rock off of castle pines parkway to grab some hand warmer. Should be there around 11:30 if anyone cares to join me you can meet me there or text me 303-944-6704.
