I'll be firing off my .38 special six shooter while blindfolded and spinning in circles.
How fast would a bullet fall if shot in the air? Say a 9mm round.
My neighbor used to fire his black powder rifle on New Years. Damn, that thing was loud as hell!
Assuming enough height is given to achieve it (fire up, not sideways), the bullet would reach whatever its terminal velocity is on the way back down. There would also be some horizontal velocity a la an arc that would determine where it landed, but the downward component would accelerate at the gravitational constant (give or take any anomalies in your area) until air resistance stopped further acceleration.
What is that speed? I don't know. I've heard stories of falling bullets going through skulls and killing people, so it's bloody fast.

A falling 9mm, without any arc because the shooter was awesome and calculated Earth rotation et al., could get to about 150 ft/s give or take some. Compared to muzzle velocity around 1,200 ft/s, terminal velocity is much much slower.
But realistically, a bullet will be shot in an arc and a good portion of muzzle velocity would be reserved resulting in a faster bullet.

I heard about a Denver woman and her daughter getting killed a few years ago by some yahoos who were shooting guns into the air and at traffic signals. The bullets traveled several blocks, went straight through the exterior wall of the house and killed the woman and her little girl as they sat at their dining room table.
