I still enjoy watching the old WSBK races from 1997 when he made big waves (meaning, pissing off the regulars!) by passing top runners and getting good results!
LOVED watching him in 2000 on the Dunlop shod R7 (he didn't like Michelin's in 1999)... Simply amazing on that beautiful bike, beating champs like Edwards, Fogarty, and Bayiss!
Will certainly miss his presence on the grid. Hopefully Hiroshi takes over the name of the Japanese samurai of slide and does well in WSBK.
