Rossi on his 2012 Ducati... right now?

Nice! Spies is lookin' good, and Rossi being up there tells me the new frame is working and the old one sucked ass.

In an interesting comparison, Nicky was fastest on the Ducati at this test last year and was about .75 off the lead pace set by Simoncelli.

This year Rossi is the fastest Ducati, but is just over a second off the lead pace set by Stoner....

Also interesting is that Hector is doing well on the Pramac bike, which tells me that the bike is considerably more "rideable" than it was last year.

Yep, I HOPE it's a lot more rideable as appears to be the case. I'd love to see the Ducs mixing it up. I wish they'd go to a V4 in their street bikes and give up that 200cc advantage they have and see if they can still be competitive. THEN I'd consider one for the street. I'm not a twins guy, but a V4 i could get behind.

Indeed, Preziosi revealed that upgrades for the newly-born GP12 were going into production even before Rossi and Hayden had turned a wheel!

“The design phase of this bike was done before Christmas, after which the designers started on some new parts that are now in production. We will use these at the next test,” he explained.

I just dont see Ducati doing well this year again, even with all the improvements. They should have kept Stoner. That being the case, it would be nice to see Rossi battling again with the top runners. I would also like to see Nicky out there battling for the top but I honestly feel that it is wishful thinking. Lets go Spies!
