    Boxing?

Does anyone know of any old school boxing rings / training centers anywhere in the Denver-Metro area?

I'm talking like Rocky / The Fighter type old school rings and training centers... not the modern "LA Boxing" type places.

    And information is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

For that old school feel, the downtown rec center can't really be beat. I have no idea how the teachers are, but the setting is as old school as it gets.

If you are just looking for a good gym, I go to America's Best Martial Arts and MMA in Arvada. It is kickboxing though, not straight boxing. It is a great workout, really good instructor and alot of fun. We don't have a ring, but I think it is a great gym for learning and sparring without all the tough guy attitudes.

We have one here in the springs. Not all the mma gyms teach new boxing. Might check around as most gyms have boxing training.

Clarification: I'm not looking for a school / training...

I'm looking for the aesthetics of the place (or lack there of as the case may be).

I'm looking for that old gritty feel. Old school 60's / 70's local neighborhood training center type feel where boxing is still the sweet science of sweat and repetition and grit and drive... not clean and chrome and antibacterializing wipe downs every hour.

I was in the Montbello area of NE Denver/Aurora this past weekend. It didn't look like it would take too much effort to find a partner to spar with.

I've been going to American Top Team where there are boxing bags... MMA cages and a boxing ring for your "aesthetics" look. Since it's getting remodeled, it is gritty right now

Technically I want to take pictures of SOMEONE at the place - not just the place itself. Its all about setting the right atmosphere if I can find it.

If I can't - well then - modern locales it will have to be.

(I'm already doing my workouts 4 days a week anyway - which NOBODY wants to photograph if they're even remotely capable of sight!)

    Re: Boxing?

Here in the Springs, there is one off of Platte Ave. and it is actually named "Old School Boxing Gym." I've got a friend that used to train there and it's about as "old school" as you may find around here.
