    it's a '98

but if you know enough about the underpants of a VFR, you might notice something a little amiss.

It's powder coat. Except for the front fairing stay which was blasted and sprayed. The rubber coated wire wraps don't do so well in the powder oven.

Something about 350 degrees and rubber don't get along.

Did you do the powder coat yourself?

"A strict observance of the written laws is doubtless one of the high duties of a good citizen, but it is not the highest. The laws of necessity, of self- preservation, of saving our country when in danger, are of higher obligation. To lose our country by a scrupulous adherence to written law would be to lose the law itself, with life, liberty, property, and all those who are enjoying them with us; thus absurdly sacrificing the end to the means."

I don't think the grease in the frame and swingarm bearings, in particular, are up to 350deg heat. The wheel bearings MAY have high-temp grease in there because of the brakes, like cars do, but since the thermal path isn't as short and straight as it is from the front brakes on a car to the bearings, I'm guessing probably not.

If you didn't pull all the bearings, i hope there was no damage, but it's somethig to think about for all those who want to powder-coat these things.

Does it look like this is my first rodeo or you just trying to show off how smart you are?

What powder coat guy is going to let you put greasy bearings in his oven and who is going to go through all this work to put it back together with old bearings and seals?

If you call "owning a 6th Gen" cheating, then yes. I'm not familiar with the shape of a 5th Gen tank, but that yellow one clearly looks just like mine. And the seat is obviously the same as mine. Does that mean you're going with the dual undertail exhaust?

    chicken dinner
Thought you may have seen the build thread over on VFRW

the 5th gen tank is 1/2 gallon smaller and more rounded - fewer lines.

    shown with 5th gen tank

shown with 6gen tank but didn't have the exhaust installed - but it will

nope, but thanks for guessing. Not sure what you were gonna say about the swing arm but all the VFRs since 1990 have had that style. That swingarm came from and belongs on that frame.
