Yeah, that guy might know a thing or two about riding.

"A strict observance of the written laws is doubtless one of the high duties of a good citizen, but it is not the highest. The laws of necessity, of self- preservation, of saving our country when in danger, are of higher obligation. To lose our country by a scrupulous adherence to written law would be to lose the law itself, with life, liberty, property, and all those who are enjoying them with us; thus absurdly sacrificing the end to the means."

    That is absolutely amazing!

I would really love to see more of his hands and maybe an ass-cam view :P but I doubt that will happen.

Anyone know what he is doing with his left hand on that last straight starting at 2:40?

Looks to me like he's adjusting the clutch cable. Cool video too.

He's adjusting the brake lever - the top guys have a remote adjuster for brake lever reach on the left handlebar so that when the brakes get hot (and carbon / carbon brakes get VERY hot) that they can adjust the lever. Also, these guys will completely wear out a set of pads in one race, so they can adjust for that too.

Some other cool stuff I noticed -

Once he leaves the garage the instrument panel is blurred - there must be some useful information on it that other teams would want to see.

There is no fairing stay- all of the fairing support is molded into the upper fairing - first time I've seen that!

Leaving pit lane he shifted all the way up to 6th gear, like he would have been if he had been coming down the straight into the turn - I'm guessing this is so that he develops the muscle memory for the downshifts on that part of the track and does it exactly the same way every time he goes through there.

Awesome video - man, if I could go 1/2 that fast....

For anyone that hasn't gone to a pro event, DO SO. It's amazing watching these guys ride, then seeing someone of the amateur level come on right after them.

Also, the NOISE these bikes make is something else. So much louder and better sounding in person than on TV.

I was on the side of the track when the GP guys first came out at laguna last year. Forgot to put my ear plugs in. My God, those things really will do ear damage if you aren't prepared

Having my ear plugs in, that close, and hearing the muffled noise of downshifting 4 times all within a second. Then they lean into turn 1 and it's quiet enough for me not to hear the bike at all. Seeing the best rider in the world hit the same 6 inches of pavement on every lap. I'll never forget that sound

Laguna was awesome last year. I'm hoping to make a trip to Austin next year for these guys. That track looks, at least on paper, to be a great venue. I'd love to go to F1 but I don't think I can afford the ticket, lol.

Yea I'd love to find out the organization that's doing the cornerworking for the Austin event next year. I love having front row seats, and the paddock access for the cornworkers is gangster

I love how even the GP bike uses the Honda OEM parts bin kill switch.
