Walmart Super Tech oil filter RANT

I just got home from Walmart and they have stopped carrying the Super Tech line of oil filters. The Super Tech filters were made by Champion and of very good quality with advanced media filtration and welded end-caps. For a similar quality filter such as Mobil 1 (also made by Champion) or Bosch, I will now get to shell out about $12 each instead of $2.50 each. I have been using the Super Tech filters on my cars and motorcycles for years! Arrrrrrrrrrg!!!!!!!!!!!

I get Purolator filters over at Advance Auto. See if you can cross-reference the filter you need. I spend about $2.50 or so for the filters.

On my Supra, I only use a real Toyota/Lexus V8 filter, NapaGold/Wix, or Purolator (PureOne). After reading all the threads of people who've torn them apart, etc., for a decade now...

I only use purolator pure one filters, why skimp a few dollars on something so important.

I only use Toyota filters on my cars. Aftermarket may filter as good but only the Toyota filters screw on tight and don't leak

I'll either use Mobil 1 filters or, today I picked up a Bosch 3300 for about $12 out the door. It's not that there aren't other quality filters out there, you just get what you pay for, in most cases. The Super Tech filters were the exception - a really good filter for bargain basement pricing. Just what I need after I pay for my taxes, insurance, health care, gas and occasionally, a morsel of food.
