Lol, I got to the track and still had a slight leak. Tightened the banjo and snapped it off. Turned around and went home. Lame.

I probably have a spare. Wind is gusting pretty good making it interesting.

I had a great time despite not ever being comfortable on the bike or happy with its performance. Gotta start the shakedown somewhere though!

Good meet you sag, sucks the bike was giving you a hard time.

Today was so fun and a huge eye opener. Anyone thinking about doing a track day, definitely go for it. You'll learn so much more about how to really ride your bike, meet a bunch of cool people and not have to worry about LEO's. It was a great time, I'm beat but can't wait for the next one.

Short vid of me following Scer for a few laps.
    http://youtu.be/vZpD4HlTjEI

On the back straight the camera should be level but you can see how far we were leaning into the cross wind by the angle of the horizon.
I packed it in when the wind pushed my front a little in the high speed sweeper exiting 7 in a full lean, that was enough of that crap

    Re: Lapping day HPR 3/18

Thanks for posting the vid dude. yeah it was pretty crazy out there. A learning experience for sure. Pretty different feeling when you are leaning in turn 2-3 and the wind decides you need to drag knee when you really didn't mean to.

PS I am still pissed about my mis-shift in 6-7. lol

    Re: Lapping day HPR 3/18

In my recollection the wind is usually more out of the west and results in more of a headwind than the crosswind coming down the back straight we had Sunday, that was pretty wild sometimes. My favorite part was transitioning from leaning left against the wind down the straight to the right as you set up for T4, at those speeds with the assistance of the gusts it caught me by surprise a few times.

Bueller, what are you riding in the video? Seems a bit faster than a ninja250.

    Re: Lapping day HPR 3/18

I am on a SV650 now, just a bit quicker
My warmup laps on my first session were the same as my best times last year on the 250.

Had to kind of go easy due to wrist surgery in January. Hoping to get some more speed this season.

I have no doubt that you'll be fast on the SV, must feel lots different. Does it turn in slower?

    Re: Lapping day HPR 3/18

Not too much, it has better suspension so it's improved handling makes up for the heavier bike and it is still a fairly light bike. Now I am just trying to maintain the 250 riding philosophy of high corner speeds and less braking.

Good luck with that, I'm too much of a pansy to keep up with you. I'm sure I'll see you out at HPR soon. Planning to be out there this saturday.

I heard the same thing from Smitty, after watching the video. He said "damn I looked slow when they passed me!"

I have a video of Rybo following me around HPR, he isn't even trying and I'm trying very hard. Some guys make it look easy.
