Exclamation So you want to Roadrace? 2012 MRA Race School April 6th & 7th

    So you want to Roadrace?

Welcome to the exciting introduction to roadracing. For the rare few of us, nothing can replace the exhilaration and challenge roadracing can provide. Roadracing is one of those rare sports that can humble the "fastest street rider" in no time. The racetrack is the ultimate arbitrator of who is truly the fastest motorcyclist by rewarding a rider’s own skills and abilities without the annoying distractions and dangers public roads present.

The Motorcycle Roadracing Association (MRA) will be holding it's 2012 Race School, April 6th and 7th. This is a great opportunity for new riders wanting to get licensed or racers wanting a pre-season refresher.

The on track school will be held in conjunction with a lapping day at High Plains Raceway, Saturday April 7th. Licensed racers can ride during the open lapping session and race school students will be coached by instructors during the MRA session. Race school students will practice starting, braking and cornering drills, and work on race lines.

As an additional bonus, if you sign up for the race school and pay for your race license, we will discount you $50! This is a one time offer - you have to sign up for both the school and the license in advance and on the same form. This offer expires at the start of evening classroom session before the school, if you've already signed up for the school, you can add a license to that point in time, but no later.

Classroom session will be in the Fay Myers Clubhouse on Friday April 6th. Doors open at 6pm, class starts at 7pm.

    Fay Myers Motorcycle World
    9700 E Arapahoe Rd
    Greenwood Village, CO 80112

On track session will be at High Plains Raceway on Saturday April 7th. Students to be unloaded and ready to go by 7:45am. We’ll meet for a 7:45 riders meeting, tech the bikes and be on track at 8:30.

    High Plains Raceway
    93301 E US Highway 36
    Deer Trail, CO 80105
Directions: To reach the track, exit I-70 at Byers (Exit #316) and take highway 36 due East for 17 miles.

Will the lapping day have any special sessions in effect for the school that us generic participants should know about ahead of time?

There will be two sessions every hour: 30 minute lapping day session and 30 minute school session. Should be no different than a normal lapping day in regards to each hour being broke out into sessions.

I dont have aftermarket case covers for my r6 yet. will we be forced to pass a full race tech or will it be slightly lax?

It's a lapping day under control of the track -- not the MRA -- so fairly lax tech requirements. Can't have coolant though. Best to read the HPR policies here: http://highplainsraceway.com/pdf/HPR...y-Policies.pdf

We currently do one race school each season. Since it's already passed, you have 2 options:
    1. Take the MRA Super Street class. After 2 of them you can apply for your race license. More info here - http://www.cosportbikeclub.org/forum...ad.php?t=39037
    2. Contact the New Rider Director Jeff Brown and set up an individual class with him. His contact info can be found here: http://www.mra-racing.org/index.cfm?action=contact
