    Unhappy Coolant Leaky

So I've been noticing substantial amounts of coolant from my reserve tank go into the abyss for a few months now but haven't ever found a leak or anything. Today I rode five minutes to an appointment where I parked for forty-five and when I came back there was a giant pool of Kawi-green under my bike.

Brought the bike home and took off the fairing where I saw that below the reserve tank was drippy. Put the bike on a stand and let it idle for five minutes and there were 3 things I didn't like.

    1. Reserve tank got very drippy at the bottom, near the hose.
    2. Large hose above the reserve was dripping out its sleeve.
    3. Lots of liquid shooting out the exhaust.

Not sure how this all happened, as I had been riding it the past few days around town with nothing of the sort going on. Ideas?

    1. Trace "drippy" to its source
    2. Same as above
    3. Water vapors that condensed

    Tada problems solved!!!

Replace the radiator cap. They have a finite life span(usually 3-5 years), and when they start to go away, the reserve/expansion tank will over fill and drip on the ground. You may also have issues with not drawing coolant back into the engine when it cools off, and subsequently end up with overheating issues. Tighten all the hose clamps as well, as they tend to loosen as the hoses age.

I'm having the same problem with mine. I have a new thermostat and fresh coolant, system was flushed but the reserve tank is filling ad overflowing. My next think to try is going to be change the radiator cap. Cross fingers...
