    lookout mountain recording 4/1/12

I need to get some footage on lookout mountain there are alot of spots to set up multiple camcorders and get some really cool shot's this will not be an all day ride so for those who want to ride all day you can consider this a warm up.

Sunday will be a little windy so need to take that into account, i need about 4-5 people for this, if you are a noob i do not suggest you join this as lookout has very tight corners, a very long drop down, and i need a little bit of speed for the shots.

Plan is to meet at Moco @ 8am if you are interested and you would like to be in my video please post up and let me know.

Also if you have a Go Pro please bring it with you i will give you a memory card to use and position the Go Pro where i need it on your bike.

    Thanks!!

Yea there was a cop halfway this past sunday but he was pretty cool and didnt seem to mind us at all.

Its really hard to actually "speed" through lookout as the corners are so tight, either way we all deal with the risk of getting pulled over when we are in the canyons anyways. This has a higher risk only because a local may call because of the noise.

That's actually the biggest risk, I know some people who live up there, they call the cops every chance they get since they don't like people on "their" mountain--thus you have a cop sitting out there 90% of the time...

A risk worth taking to get some good footage IMO just need some others who feel the same.

No, carefully manipulated interval shots taken from your video saved you.

Had they seen/used the entire video in its full, streaming glory then things may not have been the same...

I think I'll be speeding with impunity out east. No tickets for me. I'll get some video.

I'll try and make it. I'll bring the GoPro and tripod and see if I can borrow a coworker's GoPro as well.

Can't think of anything I'm doing Sunday morning... if I'm free will anything that records 1080p work for you (Canon 60d)? And since I'm a slowski turtle, need any shots from the side of the road?

Sweet, I've heard nothing but good things about that class. Bob might grope you inappropriately, but you'll like it.

    Re: lookout mountain recording 4/1/12

Just watched your previous Lookout Mountain video and it looked like a lot of gravel and rocks were in the corners. Is that fairly common for that stretch of road?

The reason I ask, and it's just silly speculation on my part, but I wonder if there is some sort of plot to intentionally sprinkle rocks and such as a speed deterrent to riders. I began thinking that after riding the Deckers route late last year and being totally dissatisfied at the absurd amount of gravel through many of the potentially good corners. I rode it again this last weekend and it was pretty much the same as last year. I know, it's crazy talk. Or is it?.......

P.S. I understand that any person intentionally introducing gravel or any substance which could dramatically reduce traction would actually be compounding the risk of a crash for all travelers regardless of the speed they take, I'm just being silly. :P
