What times will Moto GP bikes turn

Just for reference both World Superbikes (before going to only Pirellis) and AMA superbikes have gotten into the 1:24s.

my vote is for 1:20's. I mean, these bikes are so much more technically advanced than the superbikes right? Not to mention the 230 + horsepower

I voted for 1:22's, but that might be a stretch. Troy Bayliss got the fastest time in today's first practice session - a 1:24.547, beating out Nicky Hayden's 1:24.639. Hopkins was 3rd fastest with a 1:24.785, followed by Gibernau (1:24.889), Edwards (1:24.922) and Rossi (1:24.969).

jesus the bikes are so loud and so fast, it looks in person like they are riding a dirt bike. They are throwing them around and coming out of turns sideways!!!! My guess is for the 1:22's

I'm just a silly girl, I know nothing about racing and other such things.

    I did vote 1:22's though
I'm thinking most will be strong 1:23's, but I think Hayden, Rossi, those guys can squeeze in a few 1:22's.
1:21 might be possible, but I think that is stretching it just a lil....

What do I win for being right just like everyone else?

First impressions from some of the riders (from motogp.com):

They’ve done a good job in improving the safety, they’ve moved several walls and the impression it gives is that overall it is much safer. It’s still a hard track though, where you have to be very aware, but it’s a track I really like, also because the last time I was here I got a good result. I’m feeling good on the bike, but it will be a long weekend and this is just a good start, my best so far this year. So concentration, determination and hard work are what we need now.

The objective today was simply to complete as many laps as possible in order to gather data and get references for what is a tricky circuit. The extra hour was important to adjust the gearbox, tyres and suspension for this circuit. We worked in two different directions and by the end I felt much better.

We knew we were coming to a difficult circuit and it really is, but we have to be positive because we’re working in the right direction.

I lost the rear, the bike spat me off and then dragged me down the hill through the Corkscrew. I got stuck between the rear wheel and the tail and bashed my wrist, knee and head. I was lucky because I could have really hurt myself. I couldn’t ride much today but I hope to get a decent night’s rest and make up for it tomorrow.

We’ve had some problems, this morning was good but this afternoon we tried something that was quite bad for the setting – so we need to improve tomorrow.

Things are okay so far, and once I feel better on the bike, so I've got more confidence and can keep rolling into the corners faster, they'll be even better.
BTW, Nicky Hayden currently holds the fastest time with a 1:24.228 (currently = end of day Friday ). For all the results from both Friday's practice sessions (with the fastest lap hilited), go here: http://motogp.com/en/motogp/results/...7&result=35611

    Silence, silly girl...

I think we'll be seeing the 1:23s today... and maybe even a high 1:22 is possible from a couple people. the only thing that really matters is happening tomorrow and i expect it'll be a lot like the MRA races in that people just tend to wick it up a little bit for qualifying and racing than they show in practice.

    I vote for low 1.23's

I just think Laguna isn't going to be the place (more technical and tight rather than fast and flowing) where lap times are going to significantly drop and dip into the 21's-22's, even with MotoGP bikes.

Did anyone notice how most of the riders are complaining about how bumpy and unsafe Laguna is? Sounds like us complaining about CDR.

Oh and low 23's high 22's

Turns out very high 1:23's and low 1:24's for the race. Colin set the record at a 1' 23.915.

I'm not even gonne ask what I win. was I right? What did I win?

However, what are we talking about here in terms of this poll? Fastest overall time on the track was 1:22's, however new track record (race wise) was set by Edwards and stood at 1:23.9 something as of yesterday......

    Oh, and Doug/king nothing, Mista
