Who would you recommend to fix a decent dent in the gas tank?

So ever since I've had my SV650, it has had a rather unsightly dent in the tank from a previous owner. What appears to have happened is it looks like the handlebars delivered a tank slapper or something of the sort. PIC:

Do you guys have any idea how much (even an approximation?) it would cost to have repaired?

Does anyone know of a shop that could fix this? Personal experiences?

    Thanks in advance!

I've been hearing/seeing good things about Steve. He's on here as ScubaSteve. It's what he does for a living for Falcon Collision.

I paid $300 for my last tank like that to be fixed up in Fort Collins. That was with my supplied paint and decals. Mine was not quite as bad as yours. You have a lot of creases there.

Cheap way? Seal off the vent, and blow really really hard into it...

My dad at PV Motorsports can do it for you, however like mentioned above, it might be hard because of the creases. His name is Dave. Seven 2 zero 2 eight zero 3 six one 3.

May be cheaper and look better to just get a new tank; especially if you can find the same color!

I am no expert, but that looks like a lot to fix with those creases...

agreed, may end up being cheaper to get a new tank in silver already and just swap it out .

From my research, a new tank costs upwards of $700... which is about $450 more than I'm willing to spend on an eye-sore. If I was having other problems related to it, I could then maybe justify spending more $$$ on it.

It has had that nice little boo-boo since I purchased it... and I'm not going to spend $700 to replace it. Much rather put that $700 towards my next R bike.

I just looked and there are about 5 tanks under 200 on ebay, you'll have to paint it but still cheaper than 700.
