Unhappy Rider down in Boulder Canyon

Just got home from the Canyon where they just finished cleaning up what looked to be a rather horrific single motorcycle accident. It looks like the rider must have been going too fast for his skills into the first or second right hand curve in the canyon and locked up the rear brake.... there was a skinny skid mark that got fatter and fatter as it went straight into the opposite guard rail... then looks like rider and bike ricocheted back across the road... bike going over guard rail into creek... and rider's chalk outline against guard rail. No gravel. No sign that anyone else was involved. It might have been a black Triumph Daytona... but was very wadded up so hard to tell.

Hope it wasn't any of you or your friends...

I have been known to take that corner at insane speed as you've just escaped Boulder and the pavement through that area is soo nice. It is hard to imagine the rider couldn't have made the turn... it isn't sharp... but maybe an animal ran out or something else created panic braking? Sorry to share such a story but I think it is valuable to try to learn from the misfortunes of others so as to avoid such misfortune.

...and rider's chalk outline against guard rail.

There was some sort of white outline that was human shaped... probably tape not chalk. Maybe to analyze the accident after the body is taken away? I dunno.

They don't do this in real life.... Only on T.V. for an added dramatic effect.
But sad to hear either way... Hope the rider is o.k.

Wow. I park my SV next to a gorgeous black Triumph Daytona 675 every Monday while at CU for class.

I really hope it wasn't the same guy . I'll try and report back next Monday if there's a bike there or not .

I see... so I was driving home on T.V. and nobody really died. Sadly there were no cameras; this was as real as life gets.
