Brake fluid on rotors and pads - any problem?

I'm changing the pads, so that's a non-issue.

I installed Goodridge lines on my R1, and the speedbleeders (Goodridge brand) didn't work, so I had to use the OEM ones - but in the process of finding this out (among other things - don't ask ), I spilled a fair amount of brake fluid on my calipers, pads & discs.

When talking go Mike Applehans about changing brake pads, he suggested I clean the calipers with dishwashing soap. I was going to use this to clean the rotors as well. Is there anything else I need to do before I install the new pads, or will that take care of the spilled brake fluid?

You need to clean all the surfaces. There are numerous brake cleaner solvants out there that will remove crap off yer roters. The dish soap works well for the pads though.

Spidey are you coming to Zangs tonight? I have a can of brake cleaner I can give you to spray that all off with.

If you are going to use a brake cleaner of any kind, don't get it on any paint!
