Best place for custom Power Commander map?

    Hi all,

I'm new to the forum. I just moved to just north of Colorado Springs in Monument. I need to get a new custom Power Commander map for my '03 Aprilia Tuono Racing. Anyone have any good recommendations of shops that do a good job dyno tuning? I'm looking at perhaps Erico or Boulder Motorsports, but open to other suggestions. I'm willing to travel pretty much anywhere on the front range for the right shop.

    Thanks!
    Troy

Faster Motorsports and Fay Myers have dynos and can do custom maps. There is a shop in the Springs that can also do it which would be closer for you.

Thanks Ugly Dog. I did know that there's a dealer here in C-Springs that does have a dyno for a custom map. It's the local HD/BMW shop that I and others have had lackluster experiences with.

I'm hoping to find a place that will actually do a proper tune, ie more than just using the default Dynojet program to get a map - that's usually the 80% solution. It usually takes a skilled tuner some trial and error will get it the rest of the way. So I'm hoping there's a shop around the front range that will go that extra mile.

I'm working with Mike Lucaky at http://quikcycles.com/ right now to build a map for my Gixxer. He is great and will build a true custom map. Give him a call.

BTW,where did you move from? Im asking because elevation makes a big difference in your fuel map. Remember if you have a map made at 5000 feet it will be just as useless at 10,000 feet as it would be at sea level. So unless you plan on riding just in town, or just in the foothills, or just at Pikes Peak/Mt Evans/Trail Ridge/etc. you might want to be very careful at about how you spend your dyno dollars. Might want to check this out.

+1 for Faster. Bart up there does all my work/tuning on my bike. Im MOOORE then happy with his tuning. Check out how smooth this powerband is.... Dude is fucking awesome

Before and after tune. He pulled great power all the way through the band from 5k to 13.5k
