    La Junta... a dry heat?

Not a shred of evidence exists in favor of the idea that life is serious.

Well 100 is Highly over rated, it will probably be closer to 130 track surface temp.

Re: La Junta... a dry heat?

So what you wanna do is:
    - Get drunk and de-hydrated the night before
    - bring a half empty 12 oz. water bottle
    - Don't use warmers, but instead set your pressures a little low
    - put anti-freeze back in your raditor
    - Get some tires which are realy shagged out on the right side

Great! All I gotta do is put the anti-freeze back in and I'm all set!

So most of us followed the first suggestion...

...and someone here followed another suggestion that wasn't as fun

BTW- 110F on Sunday. 3 cases of heat exhaustion in the safety crew.

It was soooo HOT there. I was drinking like crazy and was still dehydrated enough that I had a pretty severe headache. Thank god for a/c and another 2 liters of water on the way home (and a bag of potato chips ).

while loading the truck after the races it cooled WAY THE HELL down and a nice COOL breeze developed. we were all basking in the coolness until dysco burst our bubble by telling us it was still 90 FUCKING DEGREES!!!! (but damn it felt nice at ONLY 90) :sweating:

138+ track temp. Yikes. It was hot but a fun weekend. That track is fast and fun. I drank just short of 5 gallons of water in 3 days. And like Bulller needed more on the way home. Im still thirsty the nnext day...Shew.

Oh man, sorry to hear that, I didn't know you went down in N-O, heard someone did but did not know it was you. I guess you are ok? Thanks, it looked like you messed up your line in 2 and I had a pretty good drive on the inside so I took it. Looked like we were pretty close as I was going to the left, and you were coming back to the right. Sorry if you had to change your drawers. I took 117 there in AM-O too as he was getting impatient trying to get around MV and ran wide. Unfortunately he got me back on the inside of T4 a few laps later, as I was trying to catch MV.

Yeah I got a little greedy and got on the gas a second to early and lost the back end. I held on and almost got out...then whamo!! It was all over. Im fine. couple bruised knuckles and a toe.

AU: I did run a tad wide and thought I had more room than I did. U must have been closer than I anticipated. After the incident in NU I was SOOOO glad we didnt rub.

AO: Quickshifter failed at the beginning of the race so I had to go manual. That with the jitters from the NO crash I think I was 9th or something... Still enjoyed the track very much...

Where did you go down in N-O?

I heard about the N-U incident, I guess that's how your leathers got torn on the shoulder?

I was getting a really good drive through 1 as I had it in 6th pretty much wide open. I was reeling you in, but I really wanted to get 117!!! I was drafting him down the front straight and had him through 1-2, but just couldn't get around him. When we hit lapped traffic he made some passes a turn before me and I lost him.
