Yeah, dealers out here suck I have found.

If you can find one who is willing to drop the price to get your business, I'd be interested to find out who they are.

also try bike dealers in wyoming. i got my r1 in laramie for $1500 cheaper than what the denver dealers were asking for. it also helps when you are buying in the winter months. as far as i know there are no new changes to the 03 1k or is there? you will prolly find killer deals on left over 02's if you look hard enough. if you can call long distance real cheap (at work) call all suzuki dealers across the country. they might be trying to unload one somewhere in wisconsin and even with $600 shipping you will still end up on the better end of the deal.

'03 GSXR1000 has been completely re-designed and will not be available till April. You won't find any deals on them when they first arrive.

And, you should probably put down a deposit soon if you even want to get one before summer.

It's an '02 and since it's Pigpen's bike, it would probably need to be sanitized first.

Motor in the '03 is almost unchanged. Even though the frame is new, the dimensions are the same so handling characteristics would be the same. Front brakes have been upgraded. The only reason to go with an '03 and pay $1000 more over the '02 would be if you like the cosmetic changes.

So they didn't change the steering head angle or anything like that? I thought I remembered reading somewhere that they were making it even steeper than it is now with the new frame...
