Time to go back to the Shelby museum in Gunbarrel and go thru there again. I did it once, HIGHLY recommended.

    RIP to a legend.

I've always thought his cars were the middle finger to the auto establishment.

Definitely worth seeing! I had always seen signs over in Gunbarrel saying "Car Museum" and never knew what it really was. Then I was watching some tv show on cars and they mentioned the Shelby museum in north Boulder. It was a pleasant surprise to find such a nice collection right here in town. I love the big photo of him they have hanging quoting him as saying "Ferrari's ass is mine!" or something to that effect.

"A strict observance of the written laws is doubtless one of the high duties of a good citizen, but it is not the highest. The laws of necessity, of self- preservation, of saving our country when in danger, are of higher obligation. To lose our country by a scrupulous adherence to written law would be to lose the law itself, with life, liberty, property, and all those who are enjoying them with us; thus absurdly sacrificing the end to the means."

I second that. For over 6 months I lived within a block of the place, then finally went one day. They had a lot of cool stuff there, very historical. the prize car was.......a Ferrari! Why? Well, because Shelby drove it for Enzo, along with a bunch of other from the golden era of F1. It was about an $8 million car.

Velocity to Pay Tribute to Auto Pioneer Carroll Shelby, 5/20

Part I - World Premiere Sunday May 20th at 8:00 PM
The exploits of the hard charging Texas farmer turned racer are explored. From his humble Early Stages, Carroll Shelby takes on and conquers the world of international sports car racing at Le Mans and builds the most iconic American sports car, the Cobra.

Part II - World Premiere Sunday May 20th at 9:00 PM
Carroll Shelby teams with Ford Motor Company in 1965 and transforms the Mustang into a true race car; the GT 350. Four decades after the original GT 350, Shelby builds a new GT 350 with Ford's latest Mustang.

Part III - World Premiere Sunday May 20th at 10:00 PM
