    Rain Gear

Don't see any current threads regarding rain gear so figured I would start a new one up! I keep getting caught in the rain, seems like at least a once a week lately. I've got a good jacket, but I need some gauntlet style gloves that go over the sleeves as well as a good solution for rainproof pants. What would be the best option?

    Re: Rain Gear

i hate getting caught in the rain. once so far this warm season, but not drenching like last year (3x). I usually watch the forecast. if it more than 20percent i'm driving. I have a windbrkr that does not work. so i'll prbly buy a nice thin rain jkt at REI for those surpises of days. for pants and gloves, bleh...i can do w/o it...

    Field sheer rain suit FTW...

Bought mine from Performance years ago and it's saved my bacon numerous times. Also great for riding when it's very cold out...

Don't go cheap... Buy cheap, by twice. My suit was around 80 bucks and worth every penny

    Re: Rain Gear

I always wear a Tourmaster III jacket and Mach II boots.

In case the skies open up on long trips, I keep gauntlet-style gloves, a waterproof jacket liner, and overpants w/liners on the bike (all Gore Tex). However, I doubt I would ever wear all that gear at once unless I had a long way to go and it was really cold and really rainy.

That one piece rain suit looks like the ticket. Now I'm really going to look like the stig lol. How about a good set of gloves? Need to figure out a solution for getting rain off of he visor, maybe a couple coats of rainex?

I bought this when I was riding an HD, and the boot covers, and they worked great. I still have it and use it as needed. HD makes great touring gear and mediocre bikes. Check out J&P, it's HD stuff without the HD price.

Its not how fast you go, its how little you slow down.

    Re: Rain Gear

There's another "getting caught in the rain" thread, or something like that from last month. Has some more posts about gear. I wish there was one that would compact enough (jacket and pants) to squish down into a small enough package for sportbike trunks.

Good Textile coat (Fieldsheer, olympia, Firstgear type touring jacket) and keep some rain paints rolled up in a backpack/tankbag/under seat. That's all I've ever used, and it serves me well.
