    Question Gun selling question

One of my neighbors is looking to purchase one of my hand guns. What do I need to do to cover my rear end? Can I do just a simple bill of sale or do we need to go to a gun shop and do everything there? Thanks.

Simple bill of sale, but if you're really paranoid get a copy of his DL.

Just a bill of sale is sufficient I do believe.

No BOS required, as long as you don't wish to have one to prove disposition of the firearm. All that is necessary is that you believe he can legally own a gun under state and federal law.

Buyer must be a Colorado resident also.

Too lazy to look up the laws at the moment, but I don't think this is true.

Buyer must be a Colorado resident for handgun sales face to face. A resident of an adjoining state , if both states allow it, may purchase a long gun. Interstate sales of hand guns or long guns to residents of non-adjoining states or states that do not allow such sales must go through a FFL dealer, with a 4473 and background check in the receiving state.
    Thanks, Jim
