    Also agree with Jay. Having shorts and a t-shirt on doesn't make u a terrible rider. Crossing double yellows or things of that nature does imo.

    Squid = Riding w/out gear (Technically While doing crazy stuff) but...
    Noob = Crossing Double yellows, wheelies, ect.
    NewB = New to riding

    This is how I've grown to learn the terms, correct me if incorrect ? And what the heck, add some

    I pretty much don't agree with any of those. Reverse the first two. And a lot of new riders dont wear gear and do stupid shit because they are new and don't know better yet.

    Re: its squid season already...

    A squid is a relatively subjective term. On the one hand, as Jay mentioned, there are riders that make stupid and reckless decisions which endanger themselves and others. On the other hand, there are people that recognize the value of wearing gear. Certainly, wearing gear is no guarantee of safety. However, it's not a stretch to think that riding without gear is also a stupid and reckless decision. While it may not endanger others, riding without gear is a markedly unwise decision due to the personal consequences should the unforeseen occur.

    Having crashed and nearly died while wearing gear, I am still grateful I had it. I know I would have died without it, and as such, I will never feel comfortable riding a motorcycle without it. While others may feel comfortable riding in a tank-top and flip-flops, I can't help but cringe at the thought of what could happen should they crash. That said, it's their life, and their choice. Therefore, they're free to do as they please. However, and no offense intended, I will never be convinced that it's not a foolish decision to ride without gear.

There's this park called Boomer Park in Stillwater, OK (Cowboys not Sooners!) that had some real nice S curves that we would take at 60 or so on a weekday when the park was empty. So one weekend when the park was packed, Larry (Z1R owner) comes ripping thru the S curves in jeans, flip-flops, no shirt, and sunglasses. Loses the front and bins it into the curb after sliding a while on concrete, and into the grass. Totaled the bike (broken frame) and we carted Larry off to the ER. He looked liked the Mummy with his road rash all wrapped up. He suffered like a dog for weeks with all the rash he had. Back then, a helmet and gloves was all the gear we ever wore. Not so sure Larry was a squid by today's standards, but he sure wasn't smart on that day. He's still a very good friend and I stay with him when I'm in Tulsa.

    Who new riding sportbikes on the street would provoke such unruly traffic habbit's? Who are these "wheelies" people speak of? What are these "passing on double yellow"?

    I blame the Cafe Racer generation for all of this squid like riding behavior. It's the British folks fault

    Yes they were speeding and weaving through traffic, thus the bad picture. Traffic was doing about 70mph here the first bike went by and had to jump that lane over to the lane he was in. The second bike (dude with the tire) was following.
