For those who use DuPont Teflon Multi-Use Lubricant

Seems as though their formula has changed and is no longer recommended as motorcycle chain lube Bastards!

    http://www.webbikeworld.com/t2/dupon...ain-lube-2012/

    a snippet:

    Summary

The formula for the DuPont Multi-Use Dry, Wax Lubricant chain lube, which was a favorite for many years, has been changed.
The new formula is no longer recommended by DuPont for motorcycle chain lubrication and it has dropped off our favorite list also.
The company now recommends the DuPont Chain Saver product only for motorcycle chain lubrication.
The Teflon Chain Saver and the new Teflon Multi-Use Lubricant (without the "Dry, Wax" formulation) are now also available in 120 ml (4 oz.) liquid containers.

Jim at TFOG specifically said this Silkolene does NOT fling grease all over the place, that's why he likes and recommends it...

I use silkolene and it's hit or miss. Sometimes it flings off and sometimes it stays.

Seems to work as good if not better, a little thicker, holds great no fling. Got mine off Amazon, forgot how the dealer was but got free shipping when I ordered a bunch of oil filters too. $8 sumthin a can IIRC

Silokene attracts dirt like a mofo.

I've been using PB blaster dry PTFE lube...not sure if it's ok for chains but I've been using it for 3k miles...

Sounds like a marketing campaign to me just to charge more for the chain specific stuff.

This is exactly the reason I rarely "impulse buy" just because I need something and I'm at the store. Usually research the shit out of stuff online first. We'll see how the Silkolene goes...

I think I'll check some off the beaten path hardware stores to see what I can find.

Silkolene spews all over the place for me. Maybe I over-lube, though. (Insert filthy comment here)
Have to try the DuPont, when this can runs out

Re: For those who use DuPont Teflon Multi-Use Lubricant

I've been finding the DuPont Chain Saver at Walmart. Can't remember exactly how much...more than the multi-use, less than the chain lubes you buy at the shop.

If I apply it at the end of a ride when the chain is nice and warm I get almost no fling (fling if I go overboard).

Re: For those who use DuPont Teflon Multi-Use Lubricant

I use Silkolene and don't get fling, think you may be overspraying if it's flinging everywhere.

And, like Squisha, I do it after the ride, so the chain is warm and can sit over night.

    1. That frothy mixture of lube and fecal matter that is sometimes the by-product of anal sex.

    2. Senator Rick Santorum (R-PA)
As his happy cries subsided, the sweet sticky santorum began dribbling from his distended asshole like melted mocha frappuccino. He told me that he loved me. It was only then that I realized the man I'd sodomized in a Pittsburgh bathouse was noe other than Senator Rick Santorum (R-PA). I felt dirty.

Same results. I have a can with two uses out of it if someone is interested in some shit that flings all over and attracts dirt.
