Barnes & Noble: "Don't Enter the Children's Book Section"

...or they might throw you out, as a suspected pedophile! WTF?! I'm happy I've taken most of my business to Amazon & eBay anyway, fucking lunatics. Feel bad for this guy, just shopping for books for his grandkids, and B&N made him look like a pedo:

    http://www.foxnews.com/us/2012/06/05...est=latestnews

The Arizona doctor who was thrown out of a Barnes & Noble bookstore because he was alone in the children’s section said he accepts the company's apology and just wants "my life back."

Dr. Omar Amin, 73, of Scottsdale, said he was shopping for books for his grandchildren at his neighborhood bookstore May 4 when he was bounced simply because he was not accompanied by a child. After initially defending its handling of the matter, the company issued a statement apologizing to Amin. Although Amin was still stinging from the incident, he told FoxNews.com he is closing the book on the matter.
"I’m losing my privacy," Amin said, a day after the incident made national headlines. "I’ve been bombarded with calls. I just need my privacy and my life back.

I'll take a wild guess and say that they caught some creepy "real" pedo hanging out in the childrens section at some B&N wacking off, so now the company had to put this in place.

Like most laws, they're in place for the 10% of retarded douchebag and creeps, not the general good public, unfortunately for the rest of us.

Lol, indeed! A bad incident may occur, but then a company putting in a no-tolerance policy compound the problem & it becomes a no-common sense policy.

I guess it's cheaper than hiring a fulltime security guard for the childrens section at every B&N, lol.

Speaking of common sense, here's a thought any 3rd grader could've come up with, but the B&N corp. execs couldn't: Why not just TRAIN your employees to be more vigilante and observant (without being overbearing), and keep an eye on that area for anything suspicious. No need to just throw adults (shopping for gifts presumably) out just because they don't have a kid with them. Heavy handed, you are correct, not common sense.

Guess Ghosty will have to do do his "shopping" in candy stores instead.

I agree with Ghosty. Barnes and Noble should train their employees to be more vigilante. And it also wouldn't hurt them to be a bit more vigilant.

Dang, I go and look for books for my two year old, I wonder when they will try to "firmly" escort me out.

Nice, that just means some real pedophile could enter as long as he is accompanied by a child....makes sense. No one would suspect a pedophile being with a child. Awesome.
