I didn't watch race 2 yet, but holy hell race #1 was good! Checha and Biaggi rode their ass' off! Checha came up from 16th on the grid to 2nd and Biaggi came up from the 3rd row to win. Wow! What a good race with some great battles. Watching Max put those passes on, was sweet.

What was the most interesting for me (as a non-racer) was watching Max and his approach to fighting for his spot. His passes were clean, although made me clench a little. And then when he was in 2nd with Guiliagno (sp) in front of him and Checha behind him, I noticed he was taking different lines than the guy in 1st. It was because he knew Checa was behind him and didn't want to get taken by an inside pass. But he was still able to keep the pace of the guy in first. Impressive to me. Then, because Guilagno wasn't taking defensive lines into the corner, Biaggi got him.

Maybe this is assumed knowledge to people who race, but I thought it was cool.

Yeah, race 1 was pretty damned good. Max showed what a few years of experience can do for you. He kept Checa at bay and kept Giugliano within reach so he could make the pass. He was patient and when the opportunity came, he took it. He definitely earned that win.

The laws of necessity, of self- preservation, of saving our country when in danger, are of higher obligation. To lose our country by a scrupulous adherence to written law would be to lose the law itself, with life, liberty, property, and all those who are enjoying them with us; thus absurdly sacrificing the end to the means."

I didn't watch race 2 yet either, but am looking forward to it. I thought race 1 was great, and even though I caught who won before I watched either (thanks, SPEED race ticker), I'm looking forward to seeing it.

I agree. That wasn't just about who is fastest, it was about strategy. I doubt someone with less experience would have been able to pull it off. I'm not a big Biaggi fan, but he earned some respect with that race.
