The wife and I did a good portion of this trip this weekend. It was our first time to the Black Canyon of the Gunnison. This trip has a lot of different terrain and all the roads were in good shape. Monarch pass was the highlight but I found it all enjoyable.
We elected to stay in Crested Butte so we could ball around the town and hit the pool at the Grand Lodge. Not the most exciting 30 miles from Gunnison, but worth it once you get to Crested Butte.
