With the exception of 1 year it always has been. I don't mind as I ride solo 90% of the time, it's always an awesome trip and thought I'd look to share it.

Re: Palisade Peach Festival August 16-19

    Day 3:

Today was a rough one. Had the Ferrari club causing trouble in the canyons, A motorcycle wreck that left pieces of bike all over the road, my own bike dumping pulling into a gas station on gravel, cops chasing people down the canyons, A fair amount of rain on the high passes, downpour with fog between Durango and Pagosa.. It's been an adventure.

That said, it's part of the territory and I wouldn't change it. Well I would change dumping my bike, could've done without that.. =)

Wow, that trip looks fun as hell! I'm gonna have to attend it next year.
It's awesome when there are no traffic and you can stop and take pictures whenever and wherever you want on the road.

This trip was fun as hell! Wrapped it up today lots of cold and wet riding, just under 1700 miles total. Thusly I didn't stop to take pics. All 4 passes I hit were being rained on. Still I got some fun sprints in here and there. Met some interesting people as well. One chick I met was 3 weeks in on a hike from Denver to Durango. All in all it was a helluva trip and I can't wait for next year! Here is the only pic I took today having breakfast by the river before getting underway.

Re: Palisade Peach Festival August 16-19

Another year in the books. More phenomenal riding and scenery. This trip never gets old. This was the coldest the trip has ever been. When I left on Friday morning from 470 and 285 it stayed between 35° - 40° until Buena Vista then only hitting 50° until much later. The Saturday morning breakfast was also colder than it's been as well as portions of my return trip home.

The line for the Saturday morning peach pancake breakfast is getting longer every year. This year it was about a block long.

    Breakfast flyover.

    Saturday evening chill time.

Changed hotels on Sunday and ended up in the middle of the How the West Was Won Motorcycle Rally.

These guys are pretty hard-core, this one converted a water jug into an external auxiliary gas tank.

I managed to roast my front tire so I just hung out on Sunday and walked around downtown.

Picked up a new front tire on Monday and headed home. I marathon at home so I didn't stop to take pictures.

Looks like a good time. Glad it all went well and you made it back safe.
