    Question Hard Drive Data Recovery

Okay all you computer hard drive techies. I have a Buffalo Linkstation LS-CH1.0TL. A power outage took out the NAS and it is no longer able to operate normally. I have removed the 1TB Seagate sata hard drive and can see the files I need on one of the partitions, but don't have the software or knowledge to recover files. This is not a raid setup, just one hard drive.

I can see the directories and files with UFC Explorer, so I'm pretty sure the files are recoverable. The files I need amount to around 50GB+/-. I have an external portable drive to transer the data to.

Do we have someone on the site here who could help me out for an inexpensive cost?

    Thanks,

    Jeff (fz1guy)

Check out a program called Data Rescue, that's what we use to get files off of hard drives as a last resort.

I had similar issues once upon and Devaclis was able to take it apart, confirm heavy damage and directed to a place that was capable, and they were.

I'd PM him and see if he can or is willing to help you out. He's a good guy and won't jerk you around.

Have a look at SpinRite - it will recover data from bad partitions if such are the cause of your problem. Perhaps it will help.

Thanks for the sugguestion... but not really looking to spend money on software that may or may not serve the purpose I need. Would rather have a pro do the job.

Any recommendations for someone you know, or someone on this site?
