    Black Canyon 500 - Sunday 7/22/12

    Hey everyone,

I'm planning on taking the wife and new bike out to the black canyon.

Route is the same as the Firecracker 500. It's 500 miles from both the Springs and Denver. 12-13 hour day.

I'll be leaving the Springs at 7am from the Acorn Gas station located at Highway 24 (Cimmeron) and 8 street.

From there I'll head to Buena Vista to meet with anyone from Denver. From there it's on to either Indie Pass or Monarch Pass depending on weather.

If you're interested in going, please reply here or PM me!

    My cell is 719-201-9383.

Mrs. Clovis and I had an excellent 13 hour ride today We did Indie Pass first to avoid rain and for the most part completely avoided all rain. Just a light sprinkling which dropped the air temp to a pleasant 72 degrees

Handled great! It's not as nimble in the tight corners as my 600 but feels great on any 30mph (yellow sign) corner!

Yes, those are air hawks. First time trying them actually. I like mine well enough, Mrs. Clovis didn't care for hers. They make her slide around a lot. Mine can't slide around as there's no where for it to slide to.

We're looking at getting a Russell Day Long saddle at some point instead.

If you do another longy like this I would like to tag along...Had to pick up the kiddies from Denver today after a month long grandma visit or I would have been there.

Nice ride, I love the Firecracker
