    PC LAN Party?

Anyone on here have any interest in setting up a LAN party sometime in the near future. I have a friend coming into town for the next two weeks and another 2-6 people could set the stage for an epic night of nerdery. I do have a pretty solid list of rts/fps in mind. A lot of what I have in mind can be gotten for "free".

    Anyone?

    Duke nukem 3d
    Ut2k4
    C&c generals (zero hour)
    Other c&c games as well
    company of heroes
    Hl2 dm
    Sins of a solar empire
    Starcraft (2?)
    Age of empires 2

Lots of possibilities really. I'd prefer games that can be "distributed" among people so people don't have to buy a bunch of games if it's not necessary, although with some games like company of heroes you need to be online now.

I like chicks, let's do a console party since they apparently prefer consoles and the PC LAN party seems entirely sausage-filled...

I played half life once... I spent the night running around as a giant tube of tooth paste being continually slaughtered by Ned Flanders, a sniper guy, and Inspector Gadget... it wasn't fun.
Do not put off living the life you dream of. Next year may never come. If we are always waiting for something to change...
Retirement, the kids to leave home, the weather or the economy, that's not living. That's waiting!
Waiting will only leaves us with unrealized dreams and empty wishes.

    Re: PC LAN Party?

I'd be in...if I didn't have to carry a 22" monitor, keyboard, mouse, and full size tower. Never mind that Starcraft: Brood War (my main interest, though SC2 and/or FPS is fun) still won't play on Win7.

So mainly it's the "I'd have to tear apart my computer desk" issue that's gonna keep me out of this. Which is a huge bummer, because I imagine this would be great fun.

We had a naked woman, Kermit the frog, some dude in scuba gear, a robot, and some other weird shit. We would arm everyone with Bow and arrows and play tag, shit was epic.

Does it have rally stripes or flames on it? That's the only way it could truly be fast.....

No, it looks like the Monolith from Space Odyssey. Has a triple 120 rad mounted on the right side.

Not a prob, still have mine. Plus, they're easily copied, long before the days of DRM.

This, of course, is ignoring the fact that the game can be downloaded for free from battle.net, so long as you have your CD key. The bonus is that original SC CD Keys will also give you Brood War. I have a copy of the Brood War disc old enough that it didn't have it's own CD Key.

Any thoughts on a location for this shindig?
