So who would Ducati go after, if Rossi goes back to Yamaha? Stoner could ride the shit out of a Ducati, I wonder who else can?

The guy has to be fed up at this point, regardless of what Audi says or does. They just haven't been able to deliver.

Now - toss in the rumors of him turning down a $17M offer from Ducati, and Dovi indicating that a Yamaha/Rossi deal is almost complete, and I'd say his mind is made up. Granted, this is me coming out of 100% bullsh*t-speculation-land, and I could be totally wrong (hence the name "silly season").

Laguna was probably Rossi's attempt at being fair and giving Ducati one last chance to pony up with some real changes. However, with Preziosi still at the helm, there won't be any dramatic changes anytime soon. That dude is just set in his ways, and in my opinion, he is the biggest limiting factor for real progress at Ducati. If Rossi bails, I wouldn't be surprised if Audi cans Preziosi... he just took too long to respond to the demands of the Doctor.

You have a good point, but Audi JUST bought Ducati, and hasnt had a chance to do anything up to this point. Regardless of if Rossi stays with Duc or moves on, I'm betting next season Ducati is much stronger than they are and have been for the past few seasons.

But, you are right, its all specualtion. NONE of us actually know what's going on, only the riders and their teams.

If Rossi moves....he BETTER produce results. It would be severely damaging if he does not get anything other than a podium. At least with Ducati he has an "excuse" and like Jake said Audi is willing to spend the dough. Personally ( and others will get upset at this), I think Rossi ( although extremely good without a doubt) is losing his touch and will be unable to produce routine top 5's no matter what machine he is on. Stoner leaving is in his favor, since that is a position gained automatically right there.

Crutchlow is rumored to be in line for the other Ducati ride if Rossi bails.

I think Stoner should take the Yamaha spot. Then after he wins the championship on 3 different manufacturers he can give the finger to everyone/anyone and leave. I think that would be awesome. Of course it'll never happen though.

Stoner could do it too, without a doubt. That would be the icing on an already sweet tasting cake.

Re: Spies is gone from Yamaha at the end of 2012

Another point to myself.... Stoner could have (if he were to stay in Moto GP) the rare oppurtunity to switch to another manufacturer and accomplish (if he wanted to) something that no other rider has done in the top class( I believe). He would have a VERY probable chance of accomplishing this. But unfortunately, the majority of people it seems overlook him and his talent and are instead caught up in the drama and guided into the illusion that Rossi will be able to win championships for the next few years if he were on a different bike. Like mentioned above I think Rossi would be able to get better finishes, but win another championship...I think thats a bit of a stretch. He was pushing pretty damn hard against Lorenzo in the last year he was with Yamaha...so what makes people believe (just an open question... not trying to start a war) that he will be able to do battle with Lorenzo(and others...) once again after Lorenzo's experiance has gone up along with him racing Stoner? There comes a point where even the greatest of the greatest succomb to the inevitable time in there career where things dont work out as they used to. Its not a slam against Rossi...just a conversation that would be great to get started.

Did you see something we didn't see or are you being this CSC GP Prognosticator?

Do not put off living the life you dream of. Next year may never come. If we are always waiting for something to change...

I was actually crossing my fingers that Spies would end up in WSBK on a BMW. Maybe in two years...

I have lost a TON of respect for him. Two months ago he had "all kind of amazing choices, I cant wait, it's nothing but the best for me, Im soooooo happy about where Im going next year" Here we are watching him "beg" for a job with anyone that will listen. Is somebody running his puppet strings, or is he that stuck on himself?
