Looks like it's me + 2 bikes (5 total people). Will be at the Lyons DS at 7pm!

Just talked to my parents who live up there, they said it was hot and clear today. Game on!
Looks like its going to be a good night for a ride. See ya in Estes, although we may have to skip supper. Wife and I prolly won't be there til close til 9.
Its not how fast you go, its how little you slow down.
Maybe it's already been said, I didn't read through the whole thing but this ride has bad idea written all over it.
Even with going ta slower speeds due to reduced visability, my major concern would be for wild life.
There's a reason why the veterans have a "no riding at night" rule. That's when the deer come out.
I almost hit one recently about a half hour before sun set -- Bambie was right in the apex of my corner. I went wide with no so good results...
I certainly wish all that choose to go the best of luck but I emplore you to think about this decesion. That road is dangerous enough as it is, no need to go adding to it.
"If not us, who? If not now, when?"
We had no issues on our ride of 25 or so riders. So long as you are aware of the risks and ride accordingly, you will be fine.

Both times I have done this there was no problems with wildlife or the group. Everyone was very sane and rode appropriately.
If the group is too big just simply split into two groups, leave with plenty of time and everything will be good. No need to wrap your head around bad thoughts, just ride with care and have fun.
JasonOn, if there is going to be a good turn out ya might want to call Poppy's and let them know we are coming so they can save us a room or sumthin.
Just a thought.

Rules are for the obedience of fools and the guidance of wise men.
That's already taken care of.
Actually, we'll have a safety brief and whatnot at dinner when everyone is there, instead of Lyons.
For all the Nervous Nelly's out there, I have done this ride 4 or 5 times. Many CSCers have ridden up Trail Ridge Road during a full moon. As far as I know, we've never had any problems. Yes, wildlife is an issue, but wildlife is always and issue. Take it from someone who's been t-boned by a deer. As long as everyone rides smart, doesn't act like an asshat and is aware enough to know that it is dark, we should be fine.
Remember, there probably won't be much in the way of cell phone service up there, so if you do act like a fool and go down or off a cliff, help won't be coming immediately.
See you all at 7ish.
Sounds like a plan.
Our group has just grown to 3.
See you at the DS at 7.
Holy crap I made it to starbucks a lot faster than I thought lol come down early if you must haha
this ride is probably safer than riding in a washout rainstorm.

Well, it was a bummer the clouds gave us a hard time at the top, but overall was a very fun ride, and i enjoyed riding with all of you.
If anyone ever wants to ride hit me up!
only picture i managed to grab
Definitely a blast! Just got home and have an early flight, will post a couple pics tomorrow night or so. Great to meet a lot of you!
For anyone wondering: we had 26 bikes. From Lyons up to the top and back I didn't see any wildlife, nor did we have any performance awards. Moon didn't come out till the last leg from Estes back to Lyons though, stupid clouds.
Was an awesome ride! Everyone here in Greeley made it back safe. Damn it got cold at the top lol but it was an awesome time.
Great ride, guys! Yes, we had 26 bikes and one car. As far as I know, as of right now we had no one go down and no performance awards, but not for lack of trying. Those of us who left out of GoBux were flashed by the sheriff's, but no one was pulled over. And John and I were flashed by DPD on I-25 south of Broadway. Again, so awards were given.
Some of us did see some wildlife, but apparently others didn't. I don't know if that's good or bad. And yes, the Moon was a little shy tonight. The good thing, though, was the temperature at the top wasn't nearly as cold as it could have been. We lucked out with that.
Thanks to all who came out! When people ask you about this, just tell them we went up in August, but we came down in September.
Just got home was a damn good time even in the cage, saw one fox that cleared out once I turned the corner but that was it.
Made it back to Parker with no drama.
Its been a long time since Ive done a night ride. Had a great time J. Thanks for organizing it.
