    2005 R6 Electrical issue?

So I'm getting off the highway and all of the sudden the display just shuts off, then kicks back on, then off, then on.....etc.

Meanwhile the motor stays running. Pull into the gas station for gas. The bike won't start, won't even turn on, nothing.

Do a push start and after about 10-15 attempts down a hill got it going. The rest of the way home same problem, display is just flashing off and on. Like it's being turned off and on.

When i got home I let it idle while opening the garage and it was fine. Display stayed on. It only happened while moving.

Thoughts......ideas??? I was thinking maybe the wires on the actual ignition (where the key goes in) was jacked up, but really I have no idea.

    HELP PLEASE!!

    Check the usual:

    Fuses
    Battery terminals
    Stator/regulator

Voltage regulator or stator check to see what kind of volts your getting at the batt. terminals with the engine running

Make sure your gauges are plugged in fully too... I think you can get to it by only removing the windscreen.

Edit: Actually, that is probably not it since the bike will still run without it plugged in.

Wow.....ok that was easy. Think I figured out the problem I went to check the voltage and the positive cable was barely even screwed on. Tightened it down and should be good. Just got take it on a test ride, but I'm pretty sure that was it. DOH!!

Ya when I got home last night I was too pissed to look at anything. You know truck, jetski, and then bike....I was pretty mad. Well one down two to go.

I couldn't agree more. Of course getting mad while working on something is another story!
