    Archery Season

I am sort of new to hunting in this area. I have a OTC either sex archery tag. What is a good area reasonably close to the springs? I want to hike in, cold camp and hunt.

Anyone looking for a hunting partner?

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

What area is your tag for? That tells you where you can hunt.

He's got an OTC which means almost the whole state. The list of exclusions is shorter than where he can go.

    I would try RMNP

OTC means he either has elk or bear(bear had left overs this year). Good luck with elk. I had a otc last year and they were tough to track. This year I drew my either sex deer. So I'm sure I'll get some meat this year.

I know exactly what OTC means, but you can pick up OTC tags for specific areas. That said, OTC general tags typically mean west of the continental divide.

Now that we've cleared that up, maybe not a good idea to try Sterling.

    Re: Archery Season

Its an OTC tag, not a left over tag for a specific GMU. Tinkerin is right, I have the majority of the state to choose from. The list where I cannot go is much shorter.

What are you hunting? There are some good areas as close as Woodland Park.

Hunting Elk. Unfortunately you cannot get an OTC tag for mule deer, only draw.

Pretty much either side of Highway 67 north of Woodland Park is pretty good. I know for rifle there are tons of good areas to get a good shot, may be a little more hit and miss for archery.

Also there is the Dome Rock Area, but it is a pretty good hike to get into the area (downhill), then you have to hike out (uphill).
