Kawi 636 dying after about 40 mins

was out riding an 06 636 last night (one of the shops used bikes), and after about 40 mins it cut out like i ran out of gas even though i had a full tank? i believe its the fuel pump starting to take a shit but idk. if i turn the key on and off and prime the pump a few times it would fire up for a few minutes and then die again. any ideas? the bike has less then 9000 miles on it.

in my experience fuel pressure regulators act up intermittently more often than fuel pumps do

When I picked up my R100RS it did the same thing. I found the gas cap vent was plugged. Next time it dies out on you open the gas cap and see if it hisses at ya. LOL:

Had the exact same thing happen with my 05 with 30K
miles. I asked the mechanic to change the fuel pump. You would need to change the entire assembly tho. He said those things usually do not get clogged easily, and asked whether I put in a new gas cap ordid something to my tank. Turned out, i put a race cap on tank. He said it was likely that cap being put on that created some sort of vacuum because I didn't put it on correctly (there was a tiny gap).
Have not had that problem since. Otherwise, I would have said fuel pump. Good luck and keep me posted.

Could maybe be vent hoses kinked up too.
