    Dovi to Ducati

    http://superbikeplanet.com/2012/Aug/120822dovi.htm

A good move for Dovi - I think it's all upside for him to go to the Italian Factory-

    1) If Audi brings the resources he and Nicky will be on a path to a well developed machine

    2) If Audi doesn't bring the resources and Dovi can ride the bike, then he will have done something that Rossi couldn't

    3) If Audi doesn't bring the resources and Dovi can't ride the bike, well then he simply failed at the same thing Rossi did, no harm.

In the end Audi takes racing as or more seriously than any other company on the planet and they are going to do everything they can to get the Ducati on the top of the box. Being in position to take advantage of this puts Dovi in a great position to do something that the GOAT couldn't.

I'm happy for Dovi... I also think it's a great move and he deserves it.

Also, I think you summed up Audi's position perfectly. That is, of course if Audi actually cares about Ducati. The interwebz rumors mills are circulating that the only reason Audi bought ducati was to offset the European emissions laws for Lamborghini and Bugatti.

Who’s the Real Owner of Ducati?
Do not put off living the life you dream of. Next year may never come. If we are always waiting for something to change...
Retirement, the kids to leave home, the weather or the economy, that's not living. That's waiting!
Waiting will only leaves us with unrealized dreams and empty wishes.

I think he's going to do really well, or crash regularly trying. He's got a ton of heart, a ton of talent, and hopefully he'll be able to get on the bike a show some people his tail pipe.

I like the way you think.

If Ducati isn't going to take Colin, Dovi is a solid second choice. Still not sure why they passed on the texas tornado? F'ing Italians

Good. I think Dovi will do well at Ducati, especially with the R&D flowing
