What shops are capable of doing a speedometer calibration?
What shops are capable of doing a speedometer calibration?
What bike and why? gearing change?
The following article applies mostly to cars, but I believe the regulations quotes apply to both.

On bikes, the speedo tends to be off by a higher percentage, with the odometer remaining accurate (baring gearing changes). Easy/cheap ways to check yourself:
- Get a friend to drive a constant speed on the highway, match their speed. Do this at a few different speeds to get a good idea.
- Drive at a constant speed by one of the 'your speed is' signs
- Use the lap timer (or stopwatch) to record how long it takes you to go between mile markers on the highway
If you go to install a speedo healer, rather than shoot for a totally accurate speedometer, I would just account for the new gearing (just count the teeth) which will keep you odometer accurate and give you the stock speedo accuracy. To get you true speed, just note the error and do a little mental math.

SpeedoDRD
Best one out there, easy to install too. I had one on the R1 before I got the gear indicator w/ a speedohealer built in.

GPS nav unit (TomTom/Garmin) + Speedohealer = easy calibration
Time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time.
Speedo drd is awesome I have it on my bike its super easy to installed and relatively cheap like 75to bucks. Check out motomummy.com that's where I got mine.
GPS is the be best way to check, even a smart phone has apps to check speed, and install a speedo healer to change/correct speedo. Speedo healer has harnesses for most bikes so its plug and play do it yourself project.

No shop can just calibrate your speedo.... All the products listed work well. If you want cheap go with speedoDDR and if you want some features but more $$ then do SpeedoHealer.
You will need to know the gearing for programming unless you do GPS.
