    Giving out VIN #?

Have someone that wants the VIN# off my bike so that he can give it to the bank. Just wondering if anyone has any advice on this? I cant think of a reason that someone could really do anything bad with that info but just wondering if anyone knows of anything.

    Thanks all!

meh... I wouldn't be worried. It's displayed out in the open, for all to see...
Do not put off living the life you dream of. Next year may never come. If we are always waiting for something to change...
Retirement, the kids to leave home, the weather or the economy, that's not living. That's waiting!
Waiting will only leaves us with unrealized dreams and empty wishes.

The bank needs the vin for doing the paperwork to approve the loan. You really cant do much with a vin number. Yeah if he knows how he can run the vin to get your name and address off the registration but that would be about it.

Just curiosity but I thought under current privacy laws they would not give out that info unless you had a legitimate reason for it (like you do)
