Dude like you don't even know. I was on the fence about buying a new car, or a new bike. That made my mind, I needed a bike haha. I made myself a deal, I could buy a new bike as soon as my student loans were paid off. Well it's amazing how fast you can pay something off when you've got a S1000RR motivating you!

Fuck no. You're a crazy bastard for taking me through that. Quite simply, I nearly died 12 times on that ride, and nearly dropped my bike... I can't even count how many times, let's just say the entire ride was an exercise in nearly dropping my bike. And section 18-4-504 of the C.R.S. states it is unlawful and a class 1 Misdemeanor to knowingly place a S1000RR in a situation where it is likely to fall over. Riding on ice constitutes this crime.

Congrats on the beautiful bike. I installed a yoshimura fender eliminator on one before and it fit perfect. Cleaned up the rear vey well.

Have fun on your 600 mile break in haha.

Grim just had to bring back the pic. Because that was fun like I've never had before. But next time I'm bringing one of those dirt bikes that are made for the street. What are they called, like urban-assault bikes or something?

Thanks for all the kind words!

The 600 mile break in is like waking up to the hottest girl you've ever met every day in your bed with you, but then having her tell you it's strictly platonic. You just start to feel the cams come on, and then the rev limiter cuts in. It's like the slap you get when you reach for 2nd base on the 1st date.

Re: Upgraded a little, BMW S1000RR

Hah, it'll come off soon enough. I got my 2012 about 6 months ago, awesome bike. From what I understand the 10-11 is one basic model, and the 12-13 are pretty much the same as well (though the '12s didn't have that awesome grey color.)\

If you're going to get an FE, get the Yoshimura one (says 10-11 but it fits perfect). Just put mine on and it's puuurdy. Also, Puig Racing windscreen (got the light smoke on mine) does a LOT to push the wind up over my face, very noticeable difference, and just looks sexy.

Most things, (but NOT ALL) for the 10-11, fit the 12-13, but not the Woodcraft right hand side case cover, or most versions of frame sliders.

    First things first, however:

Break it in like you stole it. There are many sites explaining why and how. I used Royal Purple Break-In oil in the Duc and thrashed with a systematic method. As you know, pulls strong as hell now.

Trust me, the bike and I both know exactly what the rev limiter feels like!

And holy god your bike pulls hard!

Lol, ok just checking. SO you actually have a rev limiter imposed at the lower RPMs?

Ya I've got shift lamps that start at about 7 or 8, then at 9 all the fun stops real quick!

Thanks for asking, it's doing really well. I'm back to 100% strength and mobility, although certain movements still cause a lot of pain. The worst is handshakes, they squeeze the bones hard in all the wrong places. I try to avoid them as much as I can, but sometimes I just deal with the pain in the name of being polite.

Thanks! I'm thinking of painting a shark mouth on the front of it. The gray is perfect for the rest, and the styling of the bike makes it look like a shark. Unfortunately I'm not a very good artist (I lack creativity), so I can't do the design well. The painting I've got down, it's the actual design that I couldn't do.

Just wait until you take the rev limit off. It's a tricking monster, I got mine not too long ago, already I've put 17XX miles on it. Not a lot for some people but most if those miles are from twisty back roads. Anyways welcome and if your In the springs let me know if you wanna ride.
