CSC TRACK DAY #2 - 10/7/05 - Professional Photo Shoot

    I have a friend here in Boulder that owns a Professional Digital Photography studio;

    http://www.dotfordot.com

For a fee (of course) - they would come out to the track day, do live action shots of EVERYONE on the track, probably in various corners, they would also setup a backdrop location where we could roll up on our bike and get studio type shots and maybe even shoot some video for us. Everyone would receive a cd with their digital shots on it that they could print at their own convenience.

It would probably cost about $30 per person. Anyone interested?

This would free everyone up to just ride and enjoy and would guarantee that everyone gets shots of themselves. Yes, vanity can be expensive

Just a thought - let me know what you all think.....

Can we empty the track, put my bike in a corner, lay it down low, then I'll sit on it and pretend to go really fast.

But seriously, my wife and I will be moved into our new house just a couple miles from SCR by next track day. She will come out and video whoever wants it (just a cheap little mini-dv camcorder). I can then post it the next day, but you'll be competing for my weak ass DSL connection.

    Good luck with that....

My budy Mike, who ownes Creative Exposures, has such a good time at the track that he has offered many times to shoot for free. No one ever accepts, though. Don't know why, but they don't.

Not to step on your friend's toes as a professional photog... but...

I was planning on taking a break off the track to try to get at least a few shots of everyone coming out of the main curve into the straights where the best angles/shots typucally are... hoping someone could return the favor at some point during the day...

After ladies night tomorrow I'll be able to post some more sample work beyond what I've done for Christine....

But maybe it'd be good to have a few photogs out there.

I was just pointing out that if people don't come together for free, they're probably not willing to pay. Who knows, though. Humans tend to be pretty damn fickle...

I'm going to see if he's available that weekend and bring him out as a friend to get shots of me and, mainly, Kim. I won't ask him to commit to the group, though. Been there, done that...

I'll be there with my camera again. Last time out I didn't do a good job of getting a lot of people as I was concentrating on getting some of the calendar shots done for the girls. I'll do better next time for sure.

I can bring a laptop and burn a couple of CD's on site for those who want to post the shots on websites and the such.

Bump me? Damn! And to think, I was gonna offer to use your knee pucks for the day so that they would show some use and you could look cool later on.....no love I tell you.

But, back on topic...my main thing on pics was getting some for the calendar. Since the calendar will be over and done with before this track day, I am not as worried about the pic situation. I wouldn't mind a few random shots throughout the day so I can look at my body position, but aside from that, well....I guess I am just cheap or something, but it is not worth spending extra $$ to get them.
