Unless those dates change, I am out. Have a triathlon race in south Utah that weekend.

Still hoping to make this trip, but may add a day on either end and overnight in Montrose. That keeps mileage to about 350 per day. I'd plan to meet you young bloods in Gallup.

Holy shit. Why don't you get a sheepskin seat and some forward controls while you are at it. The Bavarian Beast will be completely nudered before it ever gets her chicken strips wore off. Lol.

Hey, don't knock the sheep skin! I rocked one of those for a year and it was awesome!

I'm interested, but I think I would get left way behind, maybe next time if you do it again.

    Sorry, I couldn't resist.

No worries about the chicken strips though. Aaron's fear of laying it down will ensure that the sides remain thoroughly unscrubbed. Of course, you could always ask to do the honors for him.

I know, I know. I looked at "nudered" three times, thought about looking it up to find the correct spelling and then lost interest.

That was the ice ride, what brings anyone closer than watching everyone with the fear they could possibly eat shit on ice and go down the side of a mountain?

Hmm, I'm probably in, the SV is comfy most of the day (haven't used the new seat for more than 150 miles in a day but it's better than the old numbbutt!) And the givi bags = WIN now!

Dibs! That or I may also see what the SV1000N cruise control market is out there, I know with the clipons on my zx11 it was a pain but I think the awesome aftermarket bars on mine have plenty of space.

In! I know, I know, I bailed on the last trip, but I took the weekend off already LOL. Can't wait!.

@NZ Darren don't let their talk keep you from coming if you want to come. We had a new rider with us last time and yes he did play catch-up sometimes, but that's ok. It's not about how fast you go, but about riding your own ride. After riding the spine, he kept up and I was the one in the back.

Not true, we dragged our knees the entire trip! Even in the straights!! =P

I'm j/k -- yes, Miles did just fine on his FZ6.

Clovis will be in front getting all the tickets so we can speed past the cops who already have him pulled over.

Heck no. We'll put the blind Canadian up front (Spiderman Bob) to watch out for the cops! Worked well last time!!

Trip sounds like a hell of good time! I'm curious to know the actual mileage tho since it sounds like a hell of a trip. I went to Warrenton TX once on my old FZ6 and it was only a 2,000 mile round trip from here in Lakewood. I've got the leathers and bags, so I'd like to be counted in for now.

Re: Mark your calandars! Devil's Highway 2013!

It was close to 1800 miles IIRC but that was because there were some navigation issues...we took a detour up I25 through New Mexico that was a bit out of our way.

I don't think Spiderman will be making this trip. We'll see.

Clovis by all that is holy if you stand me up in a curve again, there will not be a dog house big enough for you and your wife might be riding home solo. Just sayin...

Re: Mark your calandars! Devil's Highway 2013!

Mrs. Clovis says she wants to come. We're going to order our Russell day long seat, just need to get some pictures taken for the measurements. We'll probably be mid-packish but take the lead in the front with the radar detector.

Mileage should be around 1600 -- maybe a bit less. Last time it was more because we missed a turn as Christy mentions. We ended up in Soccorro which addded a few hours on to the last day.

The planned route is just under 1600 but I'll cut out 50 miles or so around the spine.

Hmmm, missing a turn and adding a few hours to an already long ride. This seems oddly familiar...
