I want to hear more about what Justin did to Christie.
I want to hear more about what Justin did to Christie.
Might have to get the Sprint ST out for this one! Very tempted
I'm just very slow. I'm a little quicker on the new bike, but I still won't be dragging anything but my brakes.
You are plenty close enough, I'm not very picky on who I let ride my bike. This sounds weird, but if I know you, I'll let almost anyone ride it. I enjoy the bike as much watching someone else ride it as I do riding it myself.
For the record, Clovis has had my S1000RR up to a higher speed than I have.
I was leaned into a curve, really excited and happy that I was keeping up and doing really good and curves weren't scary anymore when I see this HUGE HEADLIGHT in my mirror. He got so close to my ass that he owed me dinner that night. I swear his front tire touched my rear. Scared the crap out of me and I stood up and let him go by. Broke my concentration and focus and I ended up riding at the rear of the group for the rest of the day when I had been just behind Bob. Just as I was getting really good at curves too. Hell hath no fury like a pissed off Christi. I think I ended up smacking him upside the head with my gloves when we stopped and I'm pretty sure there was a lecture about this was not the track and he could wait until a straight to pass me.

"With every broken bone, I swear I lived."
You were doing really well!! I was recording with my gopro and most of the shots were of Bob. I was trying to get some of you
We'll take a more relaxed pace this year.
"If not us, who? If not now, when?"
Good job justin!
I am certainly interested in this. I will be back in Denver, but I will be getting a new project started, and can't say yet if I will be able to get away.
I can't believe you guys are complaining about seats. I did a few miles over 1,000 in 2 days on my 600RR on a ride with Clovis and Christie. I am 6'2" and have a bad back and I was just fine. If you ride fast enough, the adrenaline will drown out the aches and pains, and on a Clovis ride, you will be going fast.

im still down for this! the super duke is ready to get out and get some wind in her hair
too swift on my toes to get caught up wit chyou hoes
Just to throw this out there. For those seriously planning on going, if we changed this from 3 days to 4, would that be a deal breaker for you?
4 days would let us spread out the ride a bit. It takes me 8 hours and 45 minutes to complete a black canyon 500 ride but that's riding solo and limiting my stops to fuel only.
With a group its 12 hours per day.
Adding a day adds roughly $100 to the cost.
Thoughts?
"If not us, who? If not now, when?"
I veto that idea
I'm taking seven so no big deal.

I could probably make it 4 days but I vote to keep it as is. The pace is part of the fun.
Its not how fast you go, its how little you slow down.
When I ran this last fall I didn't know anyone either. Still don't really. I meet up with another forum member and his buddy in Gallup, Nm and road the loop with them. I would have run it by myself. The trip it really worth doing. If you like twisties it is a great trip. Besides most people here seem cool.
Definitely want grim on this one, I've been trying to get him to go on a multi day for 2 years now.
I like the fast pace and iron butt style of riding but I understand it's not for everyone. Everyone going should be prepared for 12 plus hours of riding for 3 days in a row.
"If not us, who? If not now, when?"
When you mentioned stretching it to 4 days, I was extremely happy. I'd much rather it take 4, because I'm not ready for 12 hour days. Also, for me, part of this vacation isn't all about the riding, that's almost a secondary part for me. I'm really looking forward to getting away from my life/work, and relax some too.
I know it won't fly, but I vote 4 days.
Also, I'm not sure about this new Grim 2 wannabe. The old Grim would have been up for 4 days of riding and would make cookies. I don't think grim 2 is related to the real grim, so his vote doesn't count.
I'd am more interested in the 3 day version.
Still working on details to be able to commit or not.

Drano and I worked hard today getting ready for this ride.
I got my Heli-Bars in and on without any issues, I love them. Much more comfortable than the stock bars. My sport-touring superbike is nearly ready! Next is a throttle lock cruise control, and a lithium ion battery.
Drano installed a battery that weighs less than a double A, a new rear shock, new front springs, an oil change, new double-bubble wind screen, and a few other small parts.
