There's a reason I own a 950 and live in Colorado. I can happily say that I've ridden 85% of that route. Man, I love this exploring this state.

    A frickin' KLR? Seriously?

Yeah. I think it was put on the back burner somewhere between beer 12 and 13 of that particular "planning" session. I wonder if the Twink can even do it on his gay-ass thumper? Or maybe we'll have him follow us in the "angry lesbian" so we have some cold beer?

Probably about 2 hours. I think the west entrance is near Leadville, isn't it? From my understanding, Mosquito pass is a hoot on small bikes, and a real handful on a big bike. Very rocky!

Yup it is, i attempted to tackle it in my 99 jeep cherokee a few years back always wondered what it would be like on a bike. How do you think a DRZ would handle?

Yup, tackled Mosquito in my old Frontier. Rocky is an understatement on the east side. I recall crunching my rocker mounted running boards a few times.

I bet that most bikes could make it over, it just depends on the rider

Shouldn't have any issues with a DRZ. It's a very capable bike. Maybe toss some knobbies on it? But depending on your level of experience, it'll be a ride where you learn a lot about you and the bike. You better get comfy standing up on that bike though (based on the video's I saw), Or else your nuts will be in your throat. Personally, I don't love riding on rocks and can think of better ways to spend my time, but to each their own.

Did that pass in my truck last summer didn't seem like a big deal at all. Loved the views. Was bummed we couldn't do a couple other trails due to a fire in the area though. Had fun at half moon playing in the water crossing and few others trails one that was a creek bed where we drove in the water for 1-2 miles

Beautiful scenery! Looks like so much fun, especially with all the camping gear.
