sadly, i've done that before at hpr was on a supermoto. bike was warming up while i geared up. i unplugged the warmers, kicked down the drop stand, hopped on, and took off. only made it about 10ft before the cord wrapped around the rear axle and tore it out of the warmer. luckily it was a 45° day with hardly anyone there and only one person saw me, but just happened to be a cute girl. needless to say i felt like a moron...

you woulda thought i learned my lesson, but i almost did it again in pueblo. same scenario, but this time i only got bike off center stand. luckily my buddy was there to say "don't you need to take those off?" in my defense it was my first race weekend and i was anxious to get on the track.

That's why they give you one of those orange bungees to attach to your bar so you don't forget. AND, that guy needs to learn how to pick up a bike.

The R1 was doing 94 when you first see the car, no wonder the Merc didn't see them coming. Probably looked and they weren't there, then started moving and then they were right on them.
